About this tool
A QR code is just a compact way to hand someone a link without asking them to type it. Point a phone camera at it and the URL opens. This generator produces the code in your browser as you type, and gives you the result as SVG or PNG. SVG is the one to pick for anything printed — a poster, a menu, packaging, a business card — because it stays perfectly sharp at any size. PNG is the practical choice for slides and web pages. The error correction setting controls how much of the code can be damaged or obscured before it stops scanning: higher levels survive a scuffed print or an overlaid logo, at the cost of a denser pattern. Nothing you type is sent anywhere, and the codes we generate are static, so they will never expire, break, or start redirecting somewhere you did not choose.

Frequently asked questions
Do these QR codes ever expire?
No. The code encodes your link directly rather than pointing at a redirect on our servers, so it works forever and keeps working even if this site disappears. Free generators that route through their own domain can expire or start charging; this one cannot.
Should I download SVG or PNG?
SVG for anything that will be printed, because it is vector and stays sharp at any size. PNG for slides, documents and web pages where a fixed-size image is simpler to drop in.
What does error correction actually do?
It adds redundant data so the code still scans when part of it is damaged or covered. Low recovers about 7% and High about 30%. Use High if you plan to place a logo in the middle or print on a surface that may scuff.
Is there a limit on how much text I can encode?
Around 2,000 characters, though long inputs produce dense codes that are hard for phones to read. For anything beyond a short URL, link to a page instead of encoding the content itself.
